The rate of the reaction between H and DCN

چکیده
It has been suggested that the slightly endothermic reaction between H and DCN to produce HCN and D serves to deplete DCN in hot core regions of giant molecular clouds. We have calculated the rate of this reaction for a range of temperatures up to 500 K with a combination of ab initio quantum chemical and dynamical techniques. We find that the reaction has two potential barriers lying between the reactants and products. These barriers permit only a very slow reaction except at high temperatures. We calculate that the rate coefficient k of the reaction follows the formula k (cm3 s−1) = 2 10−11Γtexp(−4931/T ), where Γt is a tunneling correction. The estimated rate coefficient at 300 K is 5 10−18 cm3 s−1; this rate coefficient is far too small to be important in the destruction of DCN.

Contribution of Somatic and Dendritic SK Channels in the Firing Rate of Deep Cerebellar Nuclei: Implication in Cerebellar Ataxia
Introduction: Loss of inhibitory output from Purkinje cells leads to hyperexcitability of the Deep Cerebellar Nuclei (DCN), which results in cerebellar ataxia. Also, inhibition of small-conductancecalcium-activated potassium (SK) channel increases firing rate f DCN, which could cause cerebellar ataxia. Therefore, SK channel activators can be effective in reducing the symptoms of this disease, ...
متن کاملWhile Urine and Plasma Decorin Remain Unchanged in Prostate Cancer, Prostatic Tissue Decorin Has a Prognostic Value
Background: Numerous studies confirmed that significant decrease in tissue decorin (DCN) expression is associated to tumor progression and metastasis in certain types of cancer including prostate cancer (PC). However, the potential prognostic value of tissue DCN in PC has not yet been investigated. Methods: A total number of 40 PC and 42 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) were inv...

Abstaract Background and Aim: Tinnitus is a specific auditory sensitivity in which the patient hears nonexistent sounds. From neurological point of view, in majority of them increment in neural activity has been proposed characterized by increase in spontaneous firing rate in central auditory system. According to a hypothesis, tinnitus is a result of abnormal synaptic plasticity and reduced inh...
متن کاملSomatovisceral interactions in the rat dorsal column nuclei
Recent studies have revealed that noxious visceral inputs travel in the dorsal column pathway, and interactions between colorectal noxious and tactile inputs occur in the ventrobasal thalamus. This investigation was to test whether the somatovisceral interactions also take place in the dorsal column nuclei (DCN). Forty-five single DCN neurons of anesthetized rats responsive to colorectal disten...
